The art of hand weaving is full of potential, yet it has largely been pushed out of fashion and replaced by industrial fabric production. Maira Gath is making a statement against this trend by skillfully reuniting the traditional craft directly with fashion and celebrating it with bright colours.<\/p>

Various zero-waste design methods were researched and tested in the process. The fabrics were individually tailored and woven to the attractive dresses using different methods, ensuring no waste was produced.\u00a0Her clothing series \\\"StrukturChaos\\\" was created in collaboration with the hand weavers Silke Schnau and Imke Henze.\u00a0<\/p>

The bachelor's thesis was awarded the prestigious Fashion X Craft Prize, which is presented annually by the Fashion Council Germany, the Swarovski Foundation and The King's The art of hand weaving is full of potential, yet it has largely been pushed out of fashion and replaced by industrial fabric production. Maira Gath is making a statement against this trend by skillfully reuniting the traditional craft directly with fashion and celebrating it with bright colours.<\/p>

Various zero-waste design methods were researched and tested in the process. The fabrics were individually tailored and woven to the attractive dresses using different methods, ensuring no waste was produced.\u00a0Her clothing series \\\"StrukturChaos\\\" was created in collaboration with the hand weavers Silke Schnau and Imke Henze.\u00a0<\/p>

The bachelor's thesis was awarded the prestigious Fashion X Craft Prize, which is presented annually by the Fashion Council Germany, the Swarovski Foundation and The King's
